Our fears are super pesky little critters that come into our brains every time we do something new. They want to tell us to stop what we’re doing because we might get hurt, yet the only thing they really do is make us play small.

I personally love the acronym False Evidence Appearing to be Real because that’s exactly what FEAR really is. I also don’t know a single business owner who hasn’t experienced it– or even a single successful business owner who doesn’t continue to experience it every time they want to try something new.

What exactly do we have to fear when we make a huge impact in the world? Well, the fear of failure is a big one. I hear about this one ALL of the time with my coaching clients– what will people think if I fail? What if the person says no? What if no one buys my product?

Luckily I’ve been around the block with my own hefty journeys with fear and I know exactly how to run with it when I’m in the middle of doing something BIG in my business. And if you want to scale and grow your business at a rapid rate, you’ll need to know how to deal with them.

Here are 4 ways you can put a better handle on yours, too

1.Journal About It

Journaling is a super helpful tool to identify and release any fears that you’re holding onto. About 95% of the fears we have in business are all in our heads, so what better way to deal with them than let them out and see just how ludicrous some of them really are.

Here are some helpful journaling prompts I’ve done in the past:

Where is this fear coming from?

What would I do if I weren’t afraid?

What would really happen if I failed? Would it be that much of a big deal?

What would happen if I succeeded?

Are any of these fears real?

Answering some of these questions will help you to pinpoint the root cause of your fears while also pointing out to you just how silly some of them are!

2.Empower Yourself

You made these business decisions that you’re afraid of for a reason– because at one point, before the fear set in, you were actually excited about your new idea. So why give into the fear? Why not instead remember all of the reasons why you’re totally going to ROCK whatever comes your way. Go ahead, sit down and write out the best case scenario from your actions and get yourself into that inspiring exciting place again. You were meant to achieve big things! Things can go bad but they can also go really really well! Could you imagine right now what life would look like if you just went all in anyways and enjoyed the entire process? What would you say about your fears then? Stop playing small and get yourself into the same mindset that you did when you started this business!

3.Do All Of Your Planning when you’re in a state of Excitement!

This is one of my favourite tips– whatever you’re going through in business, make sure that you’re always doing the bulk of your writing and planning when you’re freaking excited about your ideas. Write ALL of your sales emails for your launch before you even invite people to your webinar. Plan out what you’re going to say on your Facebook live before any of those fears pop up. That way, when you feel all nervous and shaky, you have all of your content created already. And content that you create when you feel inspired will always have a different tone and words than when you’re scared.

4.Pull a Tony Robbins

You may not have any idea what I’m talking about right now unless you’ve watched the Tony Robbins documentary on Netflix (go ahead and look it up right now, I won’t know!). One of the biggest things I took away from that documentary is that he always jumps on a mini trampoline before he gets on stage. It’s a genius idea! He’s releasing negative energy and giving himself amazing blood pumping endorphins that will give his audience the best of what he’s got. Do the same for yours. Whatever your ‘trampoline’ is– find it and do it before you show up for your tribe! You can try running, stretching, yoga or anything that brings you into that high vibe state. Fear doesn’t live there– and neither should your business.

Ultimately what I want you to know is that every single entrepreneur deals with business fears. The success of your business will depend on how good you are at not letting them control you.
