How to Overcome Imposter Syndrome

Our egos are always telling us that we’re not good enough. That it’s not safe for us to do the thing that we really want to do because we’ll fail. And one of the ways it does this for us is to tell us that we are not cut out for our work.

Ughh, as if you just spent all of this time dreaming up your perfect career, put in the work, and now you still have to deal with feeling like you’re not qualified enough to do what you do.

Hey ego, what gives?

Why can’t you just let us do the damn thing?

Here’s the deal: you are qualified enough.

You don’t need that 3rd certification to do what you’re doing and your clients couldn’t care less about how many certifications you have.

What your clients care about is whether or not you can help them. Whether or not you can get them from where they are to where they want to be.

A teaching qualification means nothing if you can’t actually teach.

I’ve had professors who are absolute brains and have published hundreds of scholarships suck at teaching me what they know.

I’ve had coaches who I haven’t even asked their credentials for give me the most effective coaching I have ever had.

I mean ever.

This doesn’t mean that I don’t believe in qualifications, I think they are very helpful and necessary. But hiding behind them and getting more so that you can be ‘ready’ to teach what it is that you love...that’s bullshit.

Start writing down all of the reasons why you’re already qualified enough. Seriously, write them all down.

Pull out your alter ego from under the rug.

And rock what you’ve got.

Put your dreams into motion...spread that truth that’s in your heart.

Watch your community grow and your reach expand knowing that you are meant to do this regardless of how many pieces of paper you own.

Your clients are waiting for you.
